Mouse wheel scrolling interpredted as click events in guest -> fixed in SVN

Reported by: bjensen Assigned to:
Priority: minor Component: guest additions
Version: VirtualBox 3.0.6 Keywords:
Cc: Guest type: other
Host type: Mac OS X

Description

Mouse wheel scrolling is interpreted as click and drag events by the guest OS. Basically every time I try to scroll with the mouse its processed by the guest OS window as a click and drag, making scrolling with the mouse wheel pretty much useless. This has been tested windows 7 64bit, windows vista 64bit, windows xp 32bit, and ubuntu 09.04 64bit, and is reproducible on each guest, so I am assuming it has to do with the guest additions.

Host: OS X 10.6.1 64 Bit Kernel VirtualBox: 3.0.6

Just checked, mouse scroll wheel works as expected when using the 32 bit kernel. So this is most likely just a 64 bit kernel problem on OS X.

I have the same behavior with Windows 7 64bits as host and Windows Vista 32 bits as guest. Is there a plan fix?

Same for me in the latest beta3: - Leopard host 10.5.8 on a Macbook Pro; - XP SP3 guests (in 32bit), with 2D video and 3D on, and beta3 additions. It did not occur in 3.0.*. The triggered clicks can mess up things badly, so it's pretty annoying. Personally, I now avoid using the wheel (mouse and trackpad).

Fixed in SVN for the Mac OS X part. If the Windows 7 problem still exists open a new bug report please.
